About the event
Alongside new resolutions, the new year ushers in fresh anxieties. Among our many individual worries comes one collective one: We’re one year closer to ecological collapse.
Living beneath this looming threat makes us feel like we’re powerless, & it’s easy to become paralyzed with panic or demoralized & depressed. Even when we’re not thinking about the climate, eco-anxiety has a way of seeping in & draining our enthusiasm & vitality. This is why eco-anxiety is quickly becoming society's biggest challenge to mental wellbeing.
While I don’t know how to fix the climate, I do know how to live a fulfilling, meaningful life even in the face of a frightening future. Bringing together existential psychology, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, & end-of-life care, I designed this experiential workshop to share the perspectives & tools you’ll need to thrive through apocalyptic anxiety.
Through presentation, experiential exercises, & group discussion, we will:
- Reveal the real cause of climate crisis (It’s not what you think!)
- Identify & replace unsustainable beliefs.
- Develop psychological flexibility to cope with fear & uncertainty.
- Connect more deeply to all you appreciate about the present.
- Decide what matters to you even in the face of eco-apocalypse.
- Transform eco-anxiety into a force for good.
After the workshop, you will receive materials reviewing the key points, detailing the exercises we did & recommending how to continue to use them in daily life, & containing a customizable Values & Goals Worksheet.
I look forward to making meaning with you soon!
*It’s important to me that cost isn’t a barrier to material I believe can really improve people’s lives, so if attending would cause a financial burden, please let me know & allow me & your community to support your attendance.
